How to Get Rid of Ink Stain on Jeans

There is always that one pair of jeans you reach for again and again. If you get an ink mark on your favorite pair of jeans, don’t despair; you can still rock them stylishly. If you accidentally get ink on your beloved pair of jeans, don’t worry; the stain can be readily cleaned. Follow this guide on how to get rid of ink stains on jeans.

1.    Remove dirt and grime using hairspray or rubbing alcohol

  1. The stain should be covered with a clean white towel and placed inside the jeans. Using a white towel will prevent the transfer of any extra color while removing the stain. Putting a cloth inside your pants helps stop the ink from seeping through to the outside.
  2. Spray the hairspray or pour a tiny quantity of isopropyl alcohol (90%) over the stain and rub it in. Alcohol may be used on tiny spots using a cotton pad or swab.   Pour the alcohol gently and carefully over the ink spot, so the stain doesn’t spread.
  3. With a clean, dry cloth or cotton swab, blot the spot. The ink will be removed from the jeans by the alcohol or hairspray, so be sure to use a fresh cotton ball or part of the fabric for each blotting.
  4. After the ink has faded, rinse the jeans in cool water to remove any remaining alcohol or hairspray. Any residual ink might be permanently set by the heat of hot water, making the stain much more difficult to remove.
  5. Machine wash the jeans in ice water. Ensure the ink has been completely removed from the jeans before drying them since the dryer’s heat will permanently fix the stain. To remove any remaining ink, rinse the jeans again after blotting them with alcohol.

2.    Vinegar may be used to get rid of ink stains.

  1. Create a solution by combining equal parts vinegar and water. It’s important to use cold water rather than boiling water. The stain will be significantly harder to remove after being exposed to heat.
  2. Allow the vinegar solution to soak into the stain for at least 30 minutes. Get some vinegar and soak the stained area of your jeans. Jeans will soak up the water and vinegar, perhaps wicking the liquid to nearby surfaces. It’s a good idea to use a towel as a barrier between the jeans and the acid and water solution.
  3. Blend bicarbonate of soda and water into a thick paste. To make baking soda, use 3 parts bicarbonate of soda and mix 1 water. It will be a thick paste.
  4. Working the bicarbonate soda into the cloth, gently scrub the mark with a sponge to remove the ink. While you’re washing the jeans, you may give your toothbrush a quick rinsing in a vinegar solution.
  5. Make sure the stain is completely gone by rinsing the jeans in cold water. If the stain persists after washing the jeans in the washing machine, consider spot cleaning it with a professional stain solution.
